Fairey Firefly, Stearman, Harvard, Avro Anson, Douglas D-3 Dakota, Mynarski Memorial Lancaster Bomber; do these names rev up your engines? If so, then you’ll love the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, Canada’s only “Flying Museum.” Residing in a new, ultra-modern wing-shaped building, this museum houses Canadian Warbirds, 25 of which are maintained in perfect flying condition. No dusty old hangars with dilapidated planes rusting away at the CWHM!
Strolling through the warbirds is a must. There’s a wealth of history in the completely restored planes.
You might want to give the archive exhibit a miss if time is limited. If you are more interested in memorabilia, then you may not want to walk the distance to the airfield to catch the planes in action.
So you’re keen on taking the 20-minute flight? Don’t leave it to chance. Book ahead by calling: (905) 679-4183 ext. 224 or e-mailing: flights@warplane.com. |
